Almighty Father, we thank you for feeding us with the holy
food of the Body and Blood of your Son, and for uniting us through him in the fellowship of your Holy Spirit. We thank you for raising up among us faithful servants for the ministry of your Word and Sacraments. We pray that Claudia Scheda may be to us an effective example in word and action, in love and patience, and in holiness of life. Grant that we, with her, may serve you now, and always rejoice in your glory; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen. BCP 564 Dear people of St. John’s Pine Meadow,
Now that the whirlwind of my arrival on top of the holiday season has settled, and we have concluded our first annual meeting together, I wanted to reach out to our entire congregation with words of Thanksgiving that you have trusted in me to care for you and your loved ones and to preach the good news to all. By now you know I’ve come to you from Buffalo NY, but maybe you’d like to know more about my life and ministry. I’ve studied voice, music education, and special Ed. I enjoy painting and drawing. I heard my call to ordained ministry when my kids were finishing middle school. Now that I’m 16 years ordained they’ve grown into wonderful adults who enjoy living in Buffalo. To help me learn more about you, St. John’s is updating its parish directory. A form is included; even if you are a very long time member please fill it out individually. We hope you will also send a selfie or portrait to the office email ([email protected]) so I can match names and faces more easily. Even in this cold time, we are looking to Holy Week, and the schedule for that is on the back of this letter; we have a wonderfully full Holy Week! Blessed be God. I am also adding a weekday communion and healing service beginning Thursday March 12 at noon. At first it will be once a month, but we can discuss expanding its schedule if desired. I’m usually in the office on Tuesdays, but a pastor is often tweaking their schedule based on pastoral calls and meetings. To reach me, text or call 959-799-1515. Email is [email protected]. I’m on Facebook as RevClaudia Scheda. Wishing you God’s abundant blessings, Claudia+ |
