Welcome to St John's Church, Pine Meadow
the 'church with the red doors on the green'
We hold weekly services at 10am on Sundays. Most Sundays of the month we have the Service of Holy Eucharist, but we also embrace the practice of Morning Prayer, following the Book of Common Prayer.
Weekly Compline is held on Facebook on Thursday evenings.
Please feel free to stop in for prayer and contemplation anytime. Our Little Free Pantry is open 24/7 and so is the welcome of God's Love in our church.

Collect for The Second Sunday of Advent
Merciful God, who sent your messengers the prophets to preach repentance and prepare the way for our salvation: Give us grace to heed their warnings and forsake our sins, that we may greet with joy the coming of Jesus Christ our Redeemer; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
"A Prayer of Thanksgiving: BCP 836"
Accept, O Lord, our thanks and praise for all that you have done for us. We thank you for the splendor of the whole creation, for the beauty of this world, for the wonder of life and for the mystery of love.
We thank you for the blessing of family and friends, and for the loving care which surrounds us on every side. We thank you for setting us at tasks which demand our best efforts, and for leading us to accomplishments which satisfy and delight us. We thank you also for those disappointments and failures that lead us to acknowledge our dependence on you alone.
Above all, we thank you for your Son Jesus Christ; for the truth of his Word and the example of his life; for his steadfast obedience, by which he overcame temptation; for his dying, through which he overcame death; and for his rising to life again, in which we are raised to the life of your kingdom. Grant us the gift of your Spirit, that we may know him and make him known; and through him, at all times and in all places, may give thanks to you in all things. Amen.
Glory to God The Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit
JESSE TREE!
Can you help us support our Jesse Tree Campaign this Year?
We are excited to be supporting 20 youth from Torrington DCF with our annual Jesse Tree collection. As we have done in the past, we will give families gift cards to Target or Walmart for a gift, Subway or Dunkin, and a grocery card.
Instead of filling out a form to order the gift cards we are asking for monetary donations so we can order cards based on the funds we receive. This will enable us to more easily divide the donations between the children. Please make checks payable to St. John’s and put Jesse Tree in the memo. You can mail to the church, drop off to the office, put in the safe box in the narthex, or in the plate on Sunday. Please donate by Sunday, 11/30 .

Lord Jesus Christ, make this a temple of your presence and a
house of prayer. Be always near us when we seek you in this place. Draw us to you, when we come alone and when we come with others, to find comfort and wisdom, to be supported and strengthened, to rejoice and give thanks. May it be here, Lord Christ, that we are made one with you and with one another, so that our lives are sustained and sanctified for your service. (BCP 568) |
