St. John’s Arbor Society
Our Planned Giving Program
The St. John’s Church Arbor Society was formed in 2000 to recognize those persons who have made a documented planned gift to St. John’s Church or a gift directly to one of the church’s Endowment Funds.
The Arbor Society was established during the church’s 150th Anniversary celebration. During that year a Society plaque was presented to the church engraved with the names of the Arbor Society members. Each year those persons who have provided St. John’s with a documented planned gift will be recognized by having their names added to the plaque.
Members of the Arbor Society know that they have looked beyond this life and made provision for the continuing financial support of their Christian community. They have “planted a shade tree under which they know full well they will never sit”.
Most active Christians have given regularly during their lifetimes in response to God’s abundance in their lives. The St. John’s Endowment Fund exists because those that have come before us desired to continue their stewardship beyond their lifetimes.
Planned giving is a way for you to help St. John’s continue its ministry within our faith community and in the larger community outside the red doors for generations to come. Endowment funds are invested and can provide St. John’s with income year after year.
How to Become a Member
A person automatically becomes a member of the Arbor Society when they make a provision for St. John’s Church through some form of planned gift.
How to Make a Gift to the Endowment Fund
The choice of an appropriate planned gift vehicle usually provides significant tax advantages to the donor. Some of the most common vehicles are:
Gifts to the Endowment Fund can be made to St. John’s Church, Pine Meadow.
A memorial gift can be made through any of the above vehicles by designating the gift in memory of a loved one.
It is important for those who may be thinking of using one of the gift vehicles mentioned above to consult their personal legal or financial advisors.
