Ministry for Children and Youth

Our ministry to children, youth and their families is a critical part of our mission to  nurture all people in their spiritual growth, in their Christian education, and in their relationship with God.
We are excited to announce Christian Formation is back at St. John’s! Parents, please bring your children to register for our new Christian Education program, Weaving God’s Promises. There will be a group activity, some snacks, and games. Children will then return to the service for Communion.
  • When: Sundays
  • Where: We will meet in the Parish Hall
Through the small red door and down the stairs.
  • Time:  During the 10:00am service
This Christian Education program will reinforce the three elements of our practice of faith; Holy Scripture, the Church, Christian Living and will provide children with a basic understanding of church teachings in Christian Education, Worship, and Service. The program focuses on ages 3 to 12 (preschool – 6th grade).

A second program for youth (12-14) is coming. It will focus on the Eucharist and use of The Book of Common Prayer and Hymnal.

We do need volunteers to help, so if you are interested or want more information, please contact Donna Colavecchio at  860-379-4643.

Faithfully,
Donna Colavecchio

The Sunday Paper

“The Sunday Paper is informal, whimsical, faithful to Scripture... [that] helps children to acquire a vocabulary of crucial Scriptural images, and to relate the Gospel to the Old Testament, the life of the Church, and their own lives.”*

"The Sunday Paper" is for youth age 9 and up and "The Sunday Paper Junior" is for children age 3-10.
