Helping Others

St. John's Member or Not,
You can Help Make a Difference In Our Community
Little Free Pantry - Help us to help members of the community who are food insecure. Volunteers staff the monthly drive up food drives and help stock and replenish the pantry shelves.

Christmas Gift Card Collection for Torrington/Winsted children in need

Every November we take a collection to purchase gift cards so that families in Torrington can have a merry Christmas.  Each year we give cards for groceries, gift shopping and dining.

If you want to donate to the Jesse Tree effort, please contact the Parish Office.

Open Door Soup Kitchen - Help make lunches at St. James Winsted for those who are food insecure in the area. In the fall we collect donations of winter clothing.

Garden Scholarship Volunteers
- High School students who volunteer 25 hour to the maintenance of the the Gill Memorial Garden are eligible for a scholarship to apply to college, technical school or community college tuition.

Lay Weeders - The Gill Memorial Garden is a great place to get away and spend some time surrounded by tranquil beauty.
