Where is Pine Meadow?
Somewhere between Satan's Kingdom and the Pleasant Valley*
Pine Meadow is a section of New Hartford and lies just east its center on Route 44, approximately 25 miles west of Hartford, capital of Connecticut. A rural community, New Hartford was settled in 1733 and is situated on the watershed of the Farmington River. It is nestled in the scenic Litchfield Hills of Northwest Connecticut.
Pine Meadow boasts a "village green" utilized year-round by various civic organizations for activities such as Christmas tree sales & craft shows. The Town of New Hartford erects a temporary ice skating rink on the green during the winter. *Satan's Kingdom is a recreational area on the east edge of town. Pleasant Valley is a village about 5 miles to the northwest. |

Address: 51 Church St., Pine Meadow, CT 06061 Per Google: 51 Church St. #2, New Hartford, CT 06057 From Torrington and Points South and West: Come up Route 8 through Torrington until Rt. 8 ends in Winsted. At the dead end, which is the junction with Rt. 44 you turn left. Go 7 or 8 miles into New Hartford (Pine Meadow is a section of New Hartford.) In the town center you will come to a light which is the intersection with Route 219 and Rt. 44. Go straight through the light for about 3/4 mile. You will see a green on your right and a white frame church with red doors. That is St. John's. Take a soft right into Church Street. From Canton, Avon, Hartford, and Points East: Come on Route 44 from Canton. You should pass a sign for New Hartford and an Episcopal Church sign. The church is about 1.7 miles ahead on the left. You will see the white frame church with the red doors on the other side of the green. At the end of the green, take a hard left--almost a hairpin. Park you car and come through the doors. |
